Wedding FAQs

A schedule of costs is available on request, but the minimum obligatory cost is £250, our facility fee. The facility fee covers (where appropriate):

• Exclusivity: only one wedding function permitted on any one day.
• Help with marriage legalities.
• Wedding guest information leaflets supplied in advance of wedding.
• Lists of local ministers and of local wedding support services.
• Lists of recommended pipers and evening entertainment.
• Unlimited free car parking.
• Option of having the wedding ceremony and reception drinks in the Castle or in the Castle grounds (if weather permits).
• Unlimited photography inside and outside the Castle.
• A Master of Ceremonies.
• White linen tablecloths, napkins and fresh flower arrangements for the wedding meal.
• Cake stand and dirk (a ceremonial dagger) available for cake cutting ceremony.
• Wedding night accommodation for the bride & groom (subject to certain criteria - see "bridal suite costs") 
• Late bar licence fees (until 12 midnight maximum)

On Fridays and Saturdays increased facility fees apply.
In addition there is a minimum number requirement for the wedding meal.
Weddings are not normally held on a Sunday, unless exceptional circumstances apply.
